Kyle Joyce joined Montgomery | Amatuzio in 2015 as an attorney and was elevated to partner in January 2022. Kyle’s practice primarily focuses on insurance coverage and carrier representation, including advising insurers on coverage and bad faith matters across a variety of coverage lines, including general liability, employers liability, personal and commercial auto, professional liability, directors and officers, errors and omissions, agriculture and farming, and property. He has analyzed and addressed coverage issues across the United States, including Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas. Kyle has litigated coverage disputes in Colorado, Utah, Kansas, and Missouri and served as appellate counsel for carriers in coverage matters in Colorado and Kansas. In addition to his robust coverage practice, Kyle has also helped clients with drafting policy documents, including coverage parts and endorsements.
In addition to his coverage work, Kyle brings over a decade of experience litigating third-party liability and first-party bad faith claims. He has defended individuals in complex matters involving motor vehicle, trucking, and motorcycle accidents, as well as product liability disputes, dram shop claims, and premises liability cases. Kyle also has experience representing national companies in asbestos-related litigation and has successfully defended a major automatic door manufacturer in multiple product defect actions. He has handled both third-party and first-party cases valued at over $15 million, including high-exposure matters where claims exceeded available insurance coverage. Kyle regularly defends insurers against bad faith claims under C.R.S. §§ 10-3-1115 and 1116 and provides strategic advice on minimizing bad faith exposure.
Kyle takes a comprehensive approach to legal issues, focusing on cost-effective and timely solutions, and explores all viable strategies to meet his clients’ objectives. He believes the foundation of the client relationship is timely and effective communication with the client.
Outside of the office, Kyle enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, including hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, snowboarding and whitewater rafting.
