Attorney
-
Sam Sternburg joined Montgomery | Amatuzio as an attorney in 2026. His practice focuses on insurance coverage and the representation of insurance carriers and their insureds in high-exposure disputes involving both first-party and third-party claims.
Sam regularly handles complex claims involving coverage issues arising in construction defect, product liability, personal injury, wrongful death, professional liability, bad faith, and mass tort matters. He applies his transactional background to address issues under insured contracts, master service agreements, and supplier agreements within the context of coverage disputes. In addition to his coverage practice, Sam has broad litigation experience spanning from the pleading stage through discovery and the dispositive motion phase. Before joining the firm, he worked for a Fortune 500 company, where he focused on drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, experience he now uses to analyze complex insuring agreements and assess the scope and application of various forms of coverage.
Sam leverages his experience handling matters across multiple jurisdictions to ensure the unique issues presented in each case are thoroughly analyzed and strategically addressed. He takes a collaborative approach to claim handling and legal strategy, working closely with clients to achieve favorable resolutions aligned with their objectives and risk tolerance.
Sam is actively involved in the Colorado legal community. He is a member of the Justice Sonia Sotomayor Inn of Court and the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association. He previously assisted low-income community members with tax controversy matters through the University of Denver Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic.
A Colorado resident for the last 27 years, Sam is an avid long-distance runner who spends his free time exploring the many running trails and hiking paths the state has to offer. He also enjoys traveling, exploring Denver’s restaurant offerings, and attending concerts in venues across Colorado.
